The thatched roof, constructed from multiple layers of locally grown Cana, keep the interior of the property 3-5 degrees cooler than conventional concrete constructions.

The house is surrounded mainly by grass with a sprinkler system. There are a number of trees in the grounds which produce a variety of fruit.
